Golden raintree is a medium-sized tree that reaches 20-40' tall. It has alternate compound leaves. This tree is native to China but is now grown throughout the southern U.S. and in California. Spikes of small yellow flowers appear early in the summer and pods, which look like chinese lanterns, appear in late summer.

The grains are 22-26 x 24-28 micrometers.
